Eye Exams

You want an eye exam that will give you the clearest vision possible. You also want to make sure that your eyes stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible. The answer comes from doctors who do both. Let Dilzer Eye Care Associates show you the most up-to-date technology combined with good old-fashioned know-how to get you the most amazing, glare-free, distortion-free vision possible, and then examine your eyes for the presence of eye disease in order to make sure they stay happy and healthy for many years to come.

The eye exam provides our optometrists with all the data they need to provide you with the best vision possible. At Dilzer Eye Care, we know that you want confidence in your eyeglass prescription. In order to do that, you need to not feel rushed during your exam. You deserve to have someone who cares enough to walk you through the available options so you can get the care you need. Our patients love the attention, and you will too.

Does a family member have trouble reading or identifying letters due to age, or literacy? Our computerized instruments make it a painless process, and our reading charts have not just letters, but numbers, pictures, and symbols. We believe all our guests deserve equal access to health care, regardless of age, education, ethnicity and ability. If special accommodations are needed, just ask!

Eye Exam

In our practice, your needs come first. You need help seeing but are not sure how to proceed or explain your situation. Our optometrists are well-versed in finding solutions to your various needs. The doctors will ask you about your workplace environment, where you sit in class, what position you play in sports, and in confidence will look at your health history since many health conditions and medications will affect your vision. A plan for vison correction will then be tailored to your specific needs in what we describe as ‘lifestyle prescribing’. You are going to love the way you see!

Visual Performance

Many of our patients complain about double vision or difficulty following objects, yet they think they can see great because the distance is clear! In addition to vision testing, an eye exam in our Purcellville office includes testing eye functionality. Our licensed optometrists perform several tests to evaluate depth perception, color vision, eye muscle capabilities, peripheral vision, and responsiveness to light. Several other simple tests are completed to determine whether the eyes are focusing, moving, and working together properly. The test results enable our doctors to diagnose any underlying conditions that may be impairing the eyes ability to focus or work together.

Eye Health

Your eyes are now seeing great. Or, you think you see well. This leads you to a false sense of security. Just as high blood pressure can go for a long time undiagnosed and lead to bad consequences, problems inside your eye left undiagnosed can lead to blindness.

Our gentle approach to eye care makes your eye health checkup pain-free and easy. Our doctors thoroughly inspect inside your eye for eye disease such as cataracts, macular degeneration, or retinal detachments, among others.

iWellness Screening

Our practice also offers a special screening test using a machine that takes a permanent picture of the back of the eyes. This documents your eye health forever, and helps the doctors identify other subtle early disease. We call this an iWellness test, and it is great at catching glaucoma and macular degeneration in the very early stages. It is also recommended for kids for sports where concussions may occur and provides a great baseline for years to come. You can never go back in time and see what your child’s eyes looked like unless you do this test. Our doctors have found numerous diseases with this device alone and have saved the vision of many patients over the years.
